Assessment Options & Fees
Following Part 1, Ella will recommend the most appropriate assessment pathway for your child.
Here is a general guide to common assessment pathways fees for Part 2:
-
The standard comprehensive ASD assessment fee which includes developmental history, structured observation, cognitive assessment, diagnostic tools aligned with DSM-5-TR criteria, collateral input, report writing, and feedback.
Based on the information gathered in Part 1, if cognitive testing is not required, a $450 reduction applies
Autism reports and the National Guideline
All autism assessments are completed in line with the National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Australia. Ella completes the assessment process and the final diagnostic report is reviewed and co-signed by a psychologist with an area of practice endorsement (e.g. clinical / educational & developmental psychology).
This co-signing means the report meets the “Lead Practitioner” single-clinician pathway described in the National Guideline, and is generally suitable as diagnostic evidence for the NDIS when a child otherwise meets eligibility criteria. Acceptance of any report is always at the discretion of the relevant agency (e.g. NDIS, school, or government department).
-
Includes cognitive and academic screening because attention concerns must be interpreted in the context of learning and cognitive functioning.
-
Integrated assessment covering both conditions.

School funding and additional clinicians
In Western Australia, the Department of Education has aligned its autism eligibility criteria with the National Guideline. For school-based funding (e.g. Individual Disability Allocation), families are usually required to provide:
A comprehensive autism diagnostic assessment (such as Ella’s report, co-signed by an endorsed psychologist), and
Evidence from at least one additional practitioner from a different discipline (for example, a paediatrician, speech pathologist, or occupational therapist). Perth Kids Hub
This means that while Ella’s report often forms a key part of the evidence, schools will generally request information from another health professional as well. Ella can outline what additional information may be helpful for school applications as part of the feedback session.
